2. Colour fading

Although you may choose from a variety of hues when you first buy your tank, the color may start to fade after a few years of contact with sunlight and other weathering elements.

3. Warm water

Plastic water tanks in shades of black and deep blue are infamous for heating their contents. This might be dangerous if you use the water in your storage tank as drinking water.

4. Tough to carry

Despite being lightweight, plastic water tanks are not necessarily easy to move. The majority of water tanks are produced as a single unit; therefore, there are no seams, etc.

It can be concluded that plastic water tanks in India have both advantages and disadvantages. The location and planned purpose will determine the best option. Plastic water tanks are only appropriate for homes and small enterprises, even though they are more affordable, aesthetically pleasing, widely accessible, and easy to move.

Ways To Keep A Plastic Water Storage Tank Odorless

No one can drink water if it is not odorless. Drinking water has to be without any bad smell or odor. For that, the main source of drinking water has to be kept odorless. And, we all know that most water storage tanks are the main sources of drinking water whether it is a home or an office. It is indeed a serious issue if a water storage tank emits a bad smell or odor that directly puts an effect on the drinking water. Hence, the first thing that should be discovered is the source of the odor or rather, how the water storage tank is sticking, and how to get rid of that. Listen to the experts of the best water tank manufacturer in India and learn what is the main fact.

What is the reason for the bad smell in a plastic water storage tank?

Experts opine that this bad smell in a plastic water storage tank mainly gets prominent because of the growth of sulfate bacteria that that often takes shelter in a water storage tank. The main reason for the development of sulfate bacteria is the warmth of the water that is stored inside the tank (because of the long exposure of the tank under the scorching sunlight) and less maintenance of the water tank. This is why all consumers are recommended to keep their water storage tanks clean and well maintained all the time along with the right placement of the water tank (if it is aboveground).

How to keep the water storage tank odor-free?

As we have already discussed, the right placement and the cleanliness of a water storage tank is the main key to resolving the issue of odor in a water tank. Let us discuss in a bit detail for a clear understanding-

•Clean your water tank on a regular basis-

A regular clean-up of the water storage tank is much necessary to keep the water fresh inside it. If the water tank is maintained regularly there will not be any growth of sulfate bacteria and algae. As a result, the water that is stored inside it will remain clean, fresh, pure, and completely odorless for a longer period of time.

•Apply the right amount of chlorine to the water to keep it fresh-

A proper amount of bleach or chlorine keeps the water fresh and prevents the growth of algae and any other bacteria. But, the ratio of chlorine and water should be measured properly in order to avoid hazards.

•Keep the water tank away from the direct exposure of sunlight-

Sunlight directly or indirectly is responsible for creating odor inside a water storage tank. Because, if a water tank is installed in direct exposure to the sunlight, algae and bacteria will grow inside the tank and make the water polluted and stinking. Hence, one must install a water tank in a place where it does not come in direct contact with sunlight for a long period every day.

•If possible, try to purchase a dark-colored tank-

Just as we discussed in the previous point, sunlight is greatly responsible to make water stink inside a tank. Hence, the right selection of color for the water tank is very important. Try to purchase dark-colored water tanks like black, dark green, dark blue, etc., in order to block sunlight.

Is The Color Black An Ideal Choice For A Commercial Water Storage Tank?

Commercial water storage tanks are one of the most commonly used tanks in everyday life. This is due to the fact that many people have discovered the benefits of the fresh and safe water supply of their own. Safe storage of water is not only essential for residential buildings but also for commercial ones. To ensure the safety, water tanks need to be installed. Many people prefer black colored water tanks than white ones for many reasons. Have you ever wondered why so? Let us find out.

Safe Storage: Safety of water is the main concern at the time of its storage. Most diseases are water borne and occur mainly due to bacteria, microbes, and algae present in it. All aboveground water storage tanks when comes in direct contact with sunlight gives growth to algae. Algae is harmful for human consumption. Therefore, it is necessary to block the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun to enter the water tank. Since black is a good conductor of heat, it blocks out the maximum light from the interior of the tank.

Saves Energy: Commercial water storage tanks can be used for both drinking as well as other purposes such as bathing or washing. Black colored water storage tanks are continuously exposed to sunlight and therefore provide warm and not hot water that can be used extensively. This way it reduces energy consumption and costs. Therefore, it is an ideal implementation of conserving energy and saving our planet.

Helps in Long-term Plastic Degradation: Plastic material even if UV stabilized, might suffer long-term degradation as it is continuously exposed to sunlight. Black color keeps a control on this and lowers the chance of long-term degradation.

Off-gassing: Plastic, when used continuously, may impart its smell into the water. As plastic ages, it may show some off-gassing effects but this is not the case with black colored tanks it would clearly outperform white ones here.

Therefore, people prefer using black colored water storage tanks. Black is considered as the original color of water storage tanks as it makes it less porous, stronger and beneficial for a long-term usage. Although there are many attractive colors now available in plastic water storage tanks. But black remains the most traditional one. When you cannot decide the color, simply go with black keeping in mind the advantages mentioned above. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

Let us Review the Different Stages of Rotational Molding Process in Detail

Rotational moulding or rotomolding is a process of manufacturing seamless hollow plastic products. Products manufactured using this process are extremely strong, long-lasting and durable and can be moulded in desired size and shape. Rotational moulding was first developed in the 20th century and it was in the early 1960s when it gained wide acceptance. Plastic water storage tanks are manufactured using the rotomolding process which makes it the ideal choice. Rotomolding process is divided into four stages. Let's review the stages in detail.

Stage One: Loading the mould with polyethylene resin

At this stage, the mold is being opened and polyethylene resin is loaded into the mold. The pulverized material, a fine powder form is loaded into the prepared mold. After doing so, the mold is closed properly and rotated outside to ensure no powder is able to escape.

Stage Two: The mold enters the cook cycle while rotating on two axes at a low speed

As the mold is closed and secured, it moves into the heating chamber of the oven while rotating on two axes at a low speed. This is popularly known as the oven’s cook cycle and a standard temperature is maintained within the cook cycle in order to avoid overcooked and undercooked products.

Stage Three: Precooling and cooling of the mold while still rotating

The mold then moves into the cooling chamber and is cooled by air or a water spray or a combination of both while still rotating after a predetermined duration of the pre-cool cycle. This is an integral step to any rotationally molded products.

Stage Four: The final product is removed by unloading the molded product

After the cooling cycle is successfully completed, the mold is taken out of the cooling chamber where it is manually opened. The molded product is then removed from the same at an optimum temperature. The final product is ready to be displayed.

There are a number of materials available for rotational moulding and the most widely used is polyethylene. Plastic water storage tanks have become the top priority of the consumers at present all over the world. The manufacturing method of plastic water storage tanks is an integral part of this process. Penguin Tank is one such name who is manufacturing rotomolding water tanks for both domestic and commercial uses.
