The base of the tank should be prepared

If you want to make a concrete base, you will first need a three-inch reinforced concrete slab that has been levelled properly. The diameter or the dimension of the base should be bigger than the size of your tank. Ensure that the base is sturdy enough to hold the tank properly for a long time.

On the other hand, if you want to go with the second option, you will need to create a three-inch pad of compacted road base. This base should be 24 inches larger than the diameter of the water tank. Make sure that there are no rocks or stones or anything sharp that would damage the tank. Make it thoroughly compacted and the outside of the base should be supported so that erosion does not occur.

The overflow drainage pipe should be fitted

If you purchased your domestic water storage tank from a well-known company, then your fitting may already be installed unless otherwise specified. Your piping is going to supply the water to the whole home, so there should not be any mistake. Your drainage system will be needed to fit the piping properly. So, fit them where the water drained out will not undermine the base.

The fill pipes should be installed from the roof

Next thing you should do is to fit your pipe that goes from your tank lid to your roof. If you are using the water in your tank for drinking also then you need to speak to the professional to make sure your water for drinking is filtered properly. You must make sure that the filter basket is in its required place in the lid of your water tank.
