The Process Of Rotational Moulding Of Plastic Water Storage Tank

A plastic water storage tank is the most sought after tanks by families and businesses. This is due to the easy availability, easy installations and the ease of usage of a plastic tank. Not only that these plastic water storage tanks are highly useful in keeping the water stored inside fresh and safe. It is manufactured with ways to prevent the UV rays and the growth of algae. They are also economical and recyclable afterwards. A plastic water storage tank in itself can be used for 10-15 years. Their manufacturing process makes it possible for you to use it for a long time. this manufacturing process is known as the rotational moulding process. Also known as rotomoulding process, it is used to manufacture hollow plastic products. It is the best way to manufacture plastic water storage tanks. Here are the steps that will explain how this process is executed.

    1. The first step is to prepare the powder in which the polyethene materials granules are mixed with a black colour concentrator. To get a uniform distribution of carbon black this formula is chopped.

    2. After the powder is ready, you can insert it in the mould by following the right amount. The machine of rotational moulding is heated around 300-degree Celsius. To form a uniform layer of plastic, the mould is then rotated in a certain low speed.

    3. Once the heat is generated, the plastic starts to surround in the mould and it gradually agglutinates the mould. With this step, the mould forms a monolithic layer against the mould surface.

    4. The mould rotation continues until the plastic coagulates and then it reaches the cooling process. Once the cooling process is done the plastic forms into a solid form. The mould rotation is then stopped and the plastic water storage tank is carefully removed from the mould.

    5. The last step is quality check where every product is checked thoroughly before it is sold in the market.

The rotational moulding is not just used for manufacturing plastic water storage tank but also everything plastics like medical products and toys. One thing a user should know that even though there are several ways of manufacturing a plastic water storage tank, rotational moulding is the best way to do it. Whether it’s for domestic use or commercial use, you should ask your manufacturer which process has been used. So, use only the best kind of plastic water storage tank for your purposes.

Steps To Install A Domestic Water Storage Tank On Your Roof

A domestic water storage tank is one of the most essential things to buy and install in a home. If you want to use it for all kinds of household chores, you need to make sure that it is capable enough to supply water to the whole house. But after buying comes the installation process. If you have chosen a plastic water storage tank for your home, you should also know that it is quite easy to install. If you want, you can even install it yourself. That’s why we have given a very simple three-step installation process for you to follow. Take a look.

The base of the tank should be prepared

First and foremost, you will need to make a base for the tank where you will be able to put it. A base of the tank can be of two types. One is a concrete base and the other one is compacted material base.

If you want to make a concrete base, you will first need a three-inch reinforced concrete slab that has been levelled properly. The diameter or the dimension of the base should be bigger than the size of your tank. Ensure that the base is sturdy enough to hold the tank properly for a long time.

On the other hand, if you want to go with the second option, you will need to create a three-inch pad of compacted road base. This base should be 24 inches larger than the diameter of the water tank. Make sure that there are no rocks or stones or anything sharp that would damage the tank. Make it thoroughly compacted and the outside of the base should be supported so that erosion does not occur.

The overflow drainage pipe should be fitted

If you purchased your domestic water storage tank from a well-known company, then your fitting may already be installed unless otherwise specified. Your piping is going to supply the water to the whole home, so there should not be any mistake. Your drainage system will be needed to fit the piping properly. So, fit them where the water drained out will not undermine the base.

The fill pipes should be installed from the roof

Next thing you should do is to fit your pipe that goes from your tank lid to your roof. If you are using the water in your tank for drinking also then you need to speak to the professional to make sure your water for drinking is filtered properly. You must make sure that the filter basket is in its required place in the lid of your water tank.

These three steps are the only thing that you need to make sure is followed meticulously without any mistake. And then your domestic water storage tank will ready for use.

In this slideshow you know the process of a new Plastic water storage tank installation.

Rotomoding Water Tanks: How Much Does It Really Help?

We all know water is the most essential daily requirement in the whole world. From domestic to commercial, we use water for every purpose. This is why storing water efficiently is also a very basic necessity. For years we have tried to store water in such a way so that the water will stay healthy, fresh and cool. Our basic requirement of making plastic storage water tank has been the very same reason. But like everything else, these plastic water storage tanks have advanced a lot too. In order to keep the water free from bacteria, contamination and virus, rotomolding water tanks are manufactured and used nowadays. They are also of excellent designs and offers a lot of economic advantages.

There are several features of these rotomolded tanks. They come in various shapes and sizes with a wide range of designs. The most important feature is that it has no seams, which means it is made of only one piece of plastic. This is possible in rotomolding technique as they are manufactured with high-quality raw materials. The one-piece of plastic means that it is quite durable and less likely to fall apart or break, unlike other types of tanks. This tank can withstand high pressure as it has thick walls.

Another advantage of this type of tank is that they are easy to maintain. Due to its features of the plastic, it protects the water from UV rays, can endure any type of gas, chemicals, and other dangerous materials. This, in turn, means the water will remain cool and fresh for a very long time, and you won’t have to clean it frequently.

As it is made of one piece of plastic, it considerably reduces its weight compared to other tanks making it lightweight. If your plastic water storage tank is lightweight, that means, you will be able to install it easily or move it from one place to another without any fear of damage.

We all have become quite aware of our environment. A lot of people try to quit things that can harm the environment. For those people, you will be happy to know that the manufacturing technique is environment-friendly. The plastic of the tank requires less fuel during manufacturing and is fully recyclable. This is why, during the manufacturing process, no chemicals, toxins or gases are released.

We all like to save money when making a purchase. So you will also be pleased to know that a rotomolding tank is quite affordable as it has a very low-cost production process, as mentioned above. Due to the large scale production, the cost of the tank is also lowered.

So, if you are looking for a plastic water storage tank, a rotomolding tank would be the best bet.

Read on to find out why you should go for this tank and why it has become so popular.

The Maxx 5 foam water tank is rotomolded that has been after a lot of research and development. It keeps the water fresh and safe for a very long period of time, which makes it a very special product. With the capacity of 500 litres of water, it stays effective and durable even in extreme conditions. It is an ideal choice for every domestic household. It also has other special features and a lot of layers which we have given below.

Food grade inner layer

Starting from the innermost layer, it is made of food-grade material. This type of material is used mainly in food containers to keep the food safe. So, when the same material is used in a water tank, it is safe to say that the water will remain fresh for long hours. If properly maintained you can use this water for drinking too.

Insulated foam layer

After the food-grade layer, it has two insulated foam layer. This double foam layer provides double insulation which has got a higher capacity to keep water cooler at the most extreme climatic conditions. It is made with unique sun shield technology. This layer makes sure that you will be able to cool water for bath even during hot summer. Not only that it also gives the tank extra strength that makes it an unbreakable plastic water storage tank.

Black middle layer

As the name suggests it comes right after the insulated foam layers and before the outermost layers. It is made of carbon black which makes sure that UV rays can not enter the tank and affect the water in any way.

UV protected outer layer

Even the outermost layer is also there for UV protection. Most of the sunlight is stopped by this outermost layer itself.

So, basically, a MAXX 5 foam plastic water storage tank is made of a total of five layers that do the work of keeping the water safe and also make the tank strong and durable.

What Is The Meaning Of A Five-Layer Water Storage Tank?

Water storage tanks are essential for everyday use in household, commercial and industrial establishments. A good quality plastic water storage tank is the primary source of water that we use daily to meet all water demands. Water storage tanks come in four different varieties- steel, fiberglass, plastic, and concrete. Here, we refer to plastic water storage tanks because these types are most popular in demand and considered the best at present for different household, commercial and industrial uses. Let us take an example of Maxx 5 Foam Plastic Water Storage Tanks from Penguin Tank. As the name suggests, it is a five-layered tank and considers the best one among the varieties of tanks so far. Now, what exactly is a five-layer water storage tank? Well, it means a tank which has five layers. Let us understand the significance of each layer in detail.

Food Grade Inner Layer: This is the innermost layer of the Penguin plastic water storage tank. With this layer, there is no chance of plastic borne health issues as it is made of high-quality LLDPE (linear low-density polyethylene) material which is BPA free and ideal for storing water for drinking and other purposes. It ensures the safety of water and does not allow it to get contaminated when comes in contact with the tank.

Insulated Foam Layer 1 and 2: The insulated foam layers and 2 maintain the temperature of the water in the changing climatic conditions reducing the heating and cooling time of the water. This tank is considered as ‘The Most Strong and Cool Water Tank’ as this is the best quality available in the water tank industry in India.

Black Middle Layer: This is one of the most important layers as this layer protects the water from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. The UV rays when it comes in direct contact with water give growth to algae. Algae consumption is harmful to health and if consumed by humans, can lead to several health ailments.

UV Protected Outer Layer: This layer is incorporated with The Sunshield Technology which is a high definition cover layer that makes this tank again 100% UV radiation-proof, making it a robust and unbreakable polymer construction and a real value for money.

Therefore, based on the above, Maxx Foam 5 tank is a must-have tank for every household, commercial and industrial property. Buy it now and secure the water that you are using on an everyday basis.

Benefits Of Rainwater Collection

Water is the most important natural resource available to us. Water is life and at the same time, it is scarce too. Most people take water for granted in India. We waste water and do not use it responsibly. We just open the faucet and its always there. Around 70% of the globe is covered in the water out of which only 1% of water is drinkable. This states that we need to start acting on water conservation and use it more economically to save this precious resource. If we do not stop wasting water and we are afraid that in the coming years, the water demand will outstrip the supply. We are already standing at the break-even point of water supply and demand.

There are many different ways to conserve water and rainwater collection is one of them. The monsoon has knocked on the door and this is the best time of rainwater collection. We will give you enough reasons to collect rainwater.

Low water bills

By using collected rainwater, you can decrease the tapwater usage and replace it with a  completely free resource for many different uses such as washing the car, watering the pavements, etc. it will save your money and reduce demand on the municipal water supply. It is most beneficial for irrigation, farms, and industrial complexes as they can create significant savings and ease the burden during water shortages by collecting rainwater.

Reduced groundwater contamination

Stormwater runoff is a significant source of groundwater pollution. Industrial waste, used oil, harmful chemicals, pesticides, and bacteria are washed directly into lakes, rivers, and other water supplies. Rainwater collection reduces the amount of runoff and reroutes to the designated plastic water storage tanks for reuse. Ultimately, the number of untreated pollutants decrease reducing the groundwater contamination.

Decreased Risk of Flood and Soil erosion

It is assumed that rainwater can reach speeds up to 20 miles per hour and throw soil up to five feet across and two feet high. One rainstorm can wash away approximately one-half inch of dirt. If rainwater is captured before it reaches the ground will reduce flooding and help to control erosion caused by runoff.

Low Maintenance Cost

The cost of maintaining rainwater catchment is minimal. Regular cleaning and periodic inspections ensure that there are no leaks and water are ready to be used for washing the cars, watering the garden, flushing toilets, washing clothes, etc.
Remember that rainwater is not ideal for drinking. Implement some sort of purification system before using it for drinking or personal hygiene.
